Imani or faith is the focus on New Year's Day and the seventh and final day of Kwanzaa. Faith focuses on honoring the best of our traditions, draws upon the best in ourselves, and helps us strive for a higher level of life for humankind, by affirming our self-worth and confidence in our ability to succeed and triumph in righteous struggle.

This quote partially true and partially a case of playing the blame game. There is a wonderful thing called personal responsibility. This is has been a rare commodity since the dawn of time. For example Adam blamed Eve for the fall of mankind even though he had neglected his duty to her to protect her from the serpent and to inform her of God's commandment not to eat from the tree of supposed knowledge.  We are responsible for managing our own health,being the primary teachers of our own children,and committing ourselves to a lifetime of learning,demanding justice from our societies,insisting on integrity from our leaders,not letting negative images run amok in the media and most importantly having a personal relationship with our Lord and building up our own faith.
