Paula Michelle White was born on April 20, 1966 into a storybook life to an upper-middle class family in Tupelo, Mississippi, Paula's world shattered when, at the age of five, her father senselessly and suddenly died. The tragedy threw her family into dire straits, and her childhood became marred by poverty and feelings of abandonment, confusion, and betrayal. She experienced periods of abuse from the hands of strangers. As a teenage girl, Paula experienced deep feelings of shame and rejection. She coped by becoming an overachiever in school, winning the approval of her teachers, trying at every juncture to gain the approval of everyone around her. But nothing seemed to work. Around age 9, Paula’s mother remarried and the family moved to Maryland.

Once again, Paula’s world would change - this time for the better. At age 18, Paula was introduced to the Gospel, and became a Christian. The crushing weight of shame and rejection she’d carried as long as she could remember were gone. Paula held the Bible and said, “God, I don’t know you and I don’t even know myself. But I know the answers are in this book.” From there, her life began to transform radically as she studied the Bible and became involved in a local church. Then, she had a vision that she was to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world.

Paula was moved by the plight of those who Jesus called “the least of these” and deeply yearned to touch those most in need. In the late 80s, she began ministering in the inner cities of Washington, D.C. By the early ’90s, she was in post-riot Los Angeles, sharing Jesus with children whose neighborhoods had been hardest hit by violence. In 1991, God called Paula to help co-found Without Walls International Church in Tampa, Florida - a ministry that went on to touch the lives of hundreds of thousands of people. In 2001, she founded Paula White Media Ministry to reach the world with the message God had given her: a message that would “transform lives, heal hearts, and win souls.” Paula White Ministries had become definite in form and started to grow.

Passionately devoted to outreach, the ministry began by supporting the local community, holding feedings and giveaways, and vigorously seeking innovative ways to reach those in need. Today, Paula White Ministries supports hundreds of local and international outreaches and spearheads global mission outreaches. Paula White Ministries provided food, clean water, clothing, toiletries and transportation in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and supported ongoing rebuilding efforts. Just hours after the devastating January 2010 earthquake in Haiti, Paula White Ministries worked through the orphanage in Haiti to provide food, clean water, and clothing, later providing tents as the masses continued to arrive during the rainy season, looking for help and shelter. Paula White was on the board for Safe Horizons non-profit organization, advocating for women and children who are victims of domestic violence. She partnered with Harlem’s Northside Center for Child Development, supporting their efforts to provide social services to underprivileged children and families.

Joyce Meyer, born Pauline Joyce Hutchison; June 4, 1943, is a Charismatic Christian author and speaker. Meyer earned her doctoral degree from Life Christian University, in Tampa, Florida. Rev Dr Yvonne Jones Bibbs...pastor, missionary,preacher, teacher, lecturer, and visionary, a catalyst for change depicts this servant of God

 Dr. Bibbs matriculated at Fayetteville State College for two years and then transferred to Virginia Union University where she completed the Evan Smith Certificate and Advance Certificate Program at the School of Theology. After receiving her call into the Ministry, she attended Richmond Virginia Seminary where she earned a Bachelors of Arts in Religious Studies Degree and a Bachelors of Theology Degree in 1982 and a Masters of Divinity Degree in 1985.   In 1990, she was awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from RVS. In 1993, she earned the Doctor of Ministry Degree from the International College and Seminary,Plymouth, Florida.  In May 2002, Dr. Bibbs matriculated at the International Theological Center, Atlanta,Georgia and received certification in Church Administration and Management. She was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Pastoral Leadership Degree from the Virginia University of Lynchburg in May 2003.

Also, in 2003, Dr. Bibbs was selected to participate in the Pastoral Excellence Program of the Lott Carey Foreign Mission Convention.  She was blessed to travel to Guyana, Jamaica, and Zimbabwe, preaching and teaching the gospel.  From that experience she is leading her congregation to be active missionaries internationally, nationally, statewide, and locally. She was awarded in March 2006 a diploma from the Baptist Theological University of Zimbabwe, South Africa for her completion of the four year Pastoral Excellence Program (PEP). In 2006, she was appointed to serve on the advisory board for Virginia Union University Office of the Chaplaincy. Also in 2006, Dr. Bibbs was appointed by Governor Kaine to serve on the statewide Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers. She is currently a board member of the mayor's Anti-Poverty Commission.

Dr. Bibbs served as a professor at Richmond Virginia Seminary for 18 years. In addition, she is the recipient of many honors including the American Red Cross, Outstanding Woman of the Year in the Field of Religion by the YWCA, 1983, Outstanding Christian Leadership, by the Minister’s Wives, 1984, Commemoration for Black Leadership Award from the Defense Depot of Richmond and Vicinity, 1989. She also served as the first female president of the Baptist Minister Union of Richmond and Vicinity from 1990 to 1994. Because of her leadership, she was the first to serve two terms as president since its origin in 1925. She has also taught for the National Baptist Congress as well as the Baptist General Convention of Virginia. Dr. Bibbs is on the executive board of the National Baptist Convention U.S.A. incorporated. And in 2009 she was appointed to the executive board of the Baptist General Convention.

Dr. Bibbs serves as the fifth pastor of the Sixth Baptist Church, organized in 1923.  She was installed on June 3^rd, 2001.  Since that time, she has been busy leading the church with several renovation projects including for Phase I:  an elevator, the installation of additional restroom facilities, a courtyard area, fencing for the parking facilities, the purchase of two church vans, remodeling of the church sanctuary and educational building; opening of the “Ministry House” that provide opportunities for community and men’s bible studies and the Rock for teens,  the purchase of a digital piano, and the purchase of a beauty and barber shop. 

Phase II began in 2007.  This phase included renovation of the sanctuary inclusive of the reconstruction of the church pulpit area, the installation of new pews, the construction of an audio visual room with the installation of the equipment necessary to record for television.  Also, included within Phase II was the renovation of the Church’s Lower Worship Center and Banquet Facility, lower restroom facilities and remodeling for a commercial kitchen.  The construction of a room for a food bank was also included in this phase. In 2008, she led the congregation to begin a Bible Academy each Wednesday. There are four adult classes and one for children and youth.

With God as her “Commander In Chief”, she was directed by the Lord to present to the church a FIVEyear theme from 2001-2006: “LORD LIFT US UP WHERE WE BELONG.”  To spiritually grow her congregation, Dr. Bibbs believes in discipleship teaching and preaching and a true commitment to “EVANGELISM.”

 Sixth Baptist enjoys dynamic worship on Sundays.  The congregation is experiencing growth in all areas. Hundreds have accepted Christ and have united with the Sixth Baptist family under her leadership. “THE BLESSINGS AND MIRACLES” television broadcast of the Sixth Baptist Church can be seen every Monday on Fox TV 6:00 A.M.

Two choirs have been organized:  The Fleming Memorial Male Chorus in 2001 and the Yvonne Jones Bibbs Ensemble of Praise for young adults in 2004. The appointment of a youth director, full time church administrator, minister of missions and ministry, young adult director, administrative assistant for music and youth, assistant minister of music, as well as various ministries for children and youth.

Sixth Baptist's new theme for the next five years was introduced on her fifth anniversary May 2006. The theme is:“CAN GOD?, GOD CAN!, I CAN!.” I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13.

In the year of 2009, she has been stressing the importance of prayer in our personal lives as well as within our church family. On September 11, 2010 at the Prayer Conference taught by Pastor Bibb, the church launched the campaign of Sixth Baptist being a total House of Prayer by organizing five prayer ministries using the scripture, “My house will be called the house prayer for all nations.” Isaiah 56:7.

Dr. Bibbs is married to Mr. Henry Clay Bibbs, II a supportive worker and teacher in the church whose ministry includes outreach and evangelism. They have one son, Jonathan Clay Bibbs a youth leader, director and musician in Sixth Baptist music ministry.

Rev. Dr. Herbert Daughtry...Pastor,Actor,Educator,Community Leader,Author,Activist

The Rev. Dr. Herbert Daughtry hails from a family that has produced five generations of Black church leaders.  Currently National Presiding Minister of The House of the Lord Churches, he has previously served as Chairman of the National Black United Front as well as Founder and President of the African People's Christian Organization.  More than 50 years of involvement in church and community service has earned him the title, "The People's Pastor."

Rev. Daughtry's long career of activism began with the civil rights struggles in the 1950s working with Brooklyn CORE and Operation Breadbasket, and continued in the fight for community control of schools in the late 1960s. He subsequently helped to found several organizations, including Black Leadership 

Commission on AIDS, Alonzo Daughtry Memorial Family Life Services, which serves the community through innovative programming such as Families of Victims Against Violence, and Alonzo Daughtry Memorial Day Care Center, which provides early childhood education under the motto, "Nurturing and Educating the Leaders of Tomorrow."  He currently serves as Chair of National Religious Leaders of African Ancestry Concerned about Darfur.

Reverend Daughtry has previously served as Chair of the New York Citywide African-American Clergy Council, African American Clergy and Elected Officials, and the Association of Brooklyn Clergy for Community Development, which built and renovated more than 500 units of housing for low- and middle-income families in Brooklyn. 

His commitment to global human rights and self-determination has led Rev. Daughtry to travel and lecture extensively around the world, and he has participated in dozens of international conferences and conventions, including speaking at United Nations subcommittee meetings regarding South African apartheid, Cuba, the Middle East, and the state of U.S. civil rights.

Currently, Reverend Daughtry is one of a handful of community leaders working with Forest City Ratner Companies to build Atlantic Yards, a $5 billion complex that includes a 19,000 seat arena to house the New York Nets.  Daughtry was instrumental in the creation of the landmark Atlantic Yards Community Benefits Agreement that ensures delivery of a wide variety of services to the Brooklyn community, including a state-of-the-art health facility, an intergenerational center, and a community foundation as well as housing opportunities for low- and middle-income New Yorkers, construction jobs for minorities and women, and thousands of other employment opportunities.

Ordained to the Ministry in 1958, Reverend Daughtry was installed as the third National Presiding Minister of The House of the Lord Churches in October 1959.  His father, Alonzo, had served as the Church's founder and first Presiding Minister.  Daughtry has pastored the Brooklyn congregation since 1958.  In 2010, he established a Jersey City branch of the Church, and he also serves as pastor there.

In the field of religion, he has served in various capacities with the World Council of Churches; has studied and done research at the Theological Ecumenical Institute in Bossey, Switzerland; and has been the preacher in residence at the Interdenominational Theological Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia. Rev. Daughtry has also lectured at Harvard University School of Divinity and at both Union and New York Theological Seminaries in New York City. Additionally, he was one of the principal lecturers at the 150th anniversary of the Virginia Theological Seminary and his lecture, “A Theology of Black Liberation: the Who, What and How,” was published in the school’s journal.

Rev. Daughtry is a prolific author. His book, No Monopoly on Suffering: Blacks and Jews in Crown Heights and Elsewhere, published by Africa World Press in 1997 with a foreword by Dr. Cornel West, gives a chronology of the building of a movement in Brooklyn which can serve as a guide for the empowerment of any people. His other books include My Beloved Community, published by Africa World Press, Effectual Prayer and Dear 2pac: Letters to a Son, published by Seaburn Press. Other publications to his credit include “Jesus Christ: African in Origin, Revolutionary and Redeeming in Action,” “South African Reader,” “Seize the Future,” “From Magnificence to Wretchedness: The Sad Saga of Black Humanity,” “Inside the Storm: A Report on the Uprising in Crown Heights,” and another work on Tupac Shakur – who joined his congregation at the early age of 11 – entitled, “A Seed Planted in Stone: The Life and Times of Tupac Shakur.” 

The pastor appeared in Spike Lee’s Mo’ Better Blues as the minister who married Bleak Gilliam (Denzel Washington) and Indigo Downes (Joie Lee).

Reverend Daughtry is married to Reverend Dr. Karen Smith Daughtry.  They have four adult children:  Leah, Sharon, Dawnique, and Herbert, Jr; and three grandsons, Lorenzo, Herbert III, and Myles.

Troy Warner is pastor of Calvary Chapel Lynchburg. Troy and his family moved to Lynchburg in August 1994 to start the church with four families who had been praying for over a year for the ministry of Calvary Chapel to begin in Lynchburg.

Troy received his ministry experience as a missionary in Australia for two years and then as Assistant Pastor at Calvary Chapel Vista for five years. The heart and vision in ministry for Pastor Troy is to see a healthy body raised up that is daily fellowshipping with Jesus and, in turn, reaching out to the community of Lynchburg and the world around them.

Calvary Chapel Lynchburg was officially established in August of 1994. A small group of people had been meeting and praying for a Calvary Chapel Ministry in Lynchburg. They desired the verse-by-verse teaching of the Word of God combined with Spirit-led and Bible-based worship, for which Calvary Chapels are known.

Pastor Troy Warner had been on staff at CC Vista, California, for 4 years and was being led to step out and begin a new work in a new place. After Pastor Troy prayed and sought the Lord for guidance, he realized Lynchburg, VA was the place God wanted to send him, to the small group of people faithfully praying for such a work. On August 1, 1994, Pastor Troy and his family moved to Lynchburg to begin the simple ministry of teaching the Word of God verse-by-verse and chapter-by-chapter, while loving and leading the flock.

Bishop Dr. Matthew M. Odum, Sr…..Pastor,Author,Community Leader,Committed Vessel of God

Dr. Odum is an alumnus of Savannah State College (now University) where he majored in English Literature. He also holds both a master’s degree as well as a doctorate from Covington Theological Seminary where his concentration was in African-American Religious Studies. Dr. Odum was consecrated a bishop in the Lord’s Church in June 2005 in Chicago, Illinois. An accomplished and gifted orator, Dr. Odum has traveled all over the nation, preaching a practical, powerful and provocative message that serves to convict, convince, and convert men and women into the Kingdom of God.

Dr. Odum has been extremely active in his native Savannah; serving on various boards and ministries, writing for a local paper, as well as carrying the torch of the gospel message to any that would receive it. He has been commended by the Georgia State House of Representatives at least twice for being an excellent spiritual and community leader. A lover of God’s people, he is a dedicated pastor and a staunch student of the Word of God.

March 2012 marked a significant milestone for Dr. Odum with the release of his first book entitled, “Mending Nets” [The Often Misunderstood and Undervalued Ministry of Reconciliation and Restoration]. In Mending Nets, Dr. Odum challenges the church to change its perspective on evangelism, if necessary-and complete the job to which God has called us.

Rev. Dr. Odum is married to Sis. Sheila J. Odum, and they are the proud parents of three children: Tiffanie, Brittanie and Matthew II; and the grandparents of one grandchild, Christian. He is the son of Mrs. Mary Lou Odum and the late Mr. Willie B. Odum.

Rev. Dr. Matthew M. Odum is the senior pastor of The Temple of Glory Community Church in Savannah, Georgia. For twenty-eight (28) years, Rev. Odum has served in the capacity of pastor/teacher and has guided this congregation to a greater appreciation for Kingdom excellence and integrity. Reverend Willie Woodson is a native of Richmond, Virginia. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Virginia Union University, a Master of Divinity degree from the School of Theology of Virginia Union University and a Master of Arts degree in Religious Education from the Presbyterian School of Christian Education and a Doctorate in Ministry from Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, VA.

Reverend Woodson served in the U.S. Air Force from 1967 until his honorable discharge in 1971.

Reverend Woodson pastors the congregation of First United Presbyterian Church, North Avenue, Richmond, where he has served for twenty-seven years. Several ministries have been developed or re-developed during his administration, namely, engaging the congregation in a mission study called “Vision For A Vital Church”, broadening the concept and ministry of Christian Education, introducing and supporting the congregation through a year-long study on “How to Become A Tithing Church”; supporting a new approach to evangelism; initiating a Summer Day Camp; improving the Youth and Children’s Ministry; and initiating plans for a new Community/Educational building.

He is the past President of the Richmond Committee of Ecumenical Clergy. Rev. Woodson has served on the Mission Organizational Task Force during the restructuring of the Presbytery of the James, Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) in Salt Lake City, Utah and on the Search Committee for the General Presbyter of the Presbytery of the James. He facilitated a mission study and developed a Day Care Center for Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church, Chase City, Virginia. He is a supervisor with the Office of Field Education and Placement of Students from Union Presbyterian Seminary and Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology of Virginia Union University. He is the past Moderator of the Black Caucus of the Presbytery of the James. Rev. Woodson served on the Redevelopment and Revitalization Committee of the Presbytery of the James. He also has participated on mission studies in Guatemala and Nicaragua in Central America, China, Korea, and Ghana, West Africa.

While his church duties keep him very busy, he still finds time to contribute to the Richmond Community. He served on the Richmond Public School’s Strategic Planning Group, Commission on Architectural Review Board, Board of Directors of “One To One Mentorship and many more. He is a Lifetime member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and Chaplain of Richmond Crusade for Voters. He has served on the Commission on Crime. Rev. Woodson was an adjunct instructor for University of Lynchburg, Petersburg site, teaching Evangelism and Missions.

He was a member on the Board off Directors for Boaz and Ruth and Noah (Northside Outreach Affordable Housing). Rev. Woodson also has mentored students at Henderson Middle School. While serving as Executive Director of Living the Dream, Inc. for ten years, the name of the organization was changed from Martin Luther King Community Learning Week to Living the Dream, Inc. with a new organizational structure, as well as vision and mission statements. Living the Dream, Inc has been extended to a year round program with emphasis on a two year “Youth Leadership Development Program”. 

Reverend Woodson is the author of the booklet “Can I Get A Witness”, co-author of “Beams of Heaven As I Go”, author of “Contextually Grounded Evangelism” and inventor of a board game called “Christo”. He was honored to render the eulogy for the last surviving "Buffalo Soldier", Trooper Jones Morgan. Rev. Woodson was the receipt of Verizon’s Humanitarian Award in 2008. He participated on The Institute For Reformed Theology Colloquy for 2006, “Race and the Reformed Tradition”, a Week Seminar on Evangelism sponsored by Billy Graham Crusade in November, 2006

Rev. Woodson was an instructor for Virginia University of Lynchburg, Petersburg site teaching Evangelism and Missions.

James H. Harris is Associate Professor of Practical Theology at the School of Theology, Virginia Union University, Richmond, Virginia. Dr. James Henry Harris is an expert in the teaching and practice of African American preaching with extensive experience in all areas of Black Church leadership and administration. He teaches practical theology, but is trained also in ethics and philosophy which leads him to postulate that philosophical theology is practical theology for the Black preacher. He teaches courses on introductory and advanced preaching and worship, the theology and preaching of Martin Luther King Jr., interpretation theory, preaching and literature, liberation preaching, theology and preaching, expository preaching, dialectical preaching, texts and textuality, preaching and the imagination, and prayer and scripture reading. His writings are a reflection of his efforts to bridge the work of the Church and the academy. He is both a practical and philosophical theologian, a literary and social critic, and a gifted preacher with a keen social conscious. He holds five  graduate and professional degrees and has written over ten books and many journal articles.

Bishop Dr. B. Courtney McBath....Pastor,Author,Global Televangelist

A graduate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), McBath earned a Bachelor of Science degree in humanities and engineering; a Master of Arts degree in Biblical studies from Regent University and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Providence Bible College and Theological Seminary.

Knowing at a young age that he wanted to pastor a church, in 1989 he passed through Norfolk International Airport, sensing he was to begin a church in that city. Formerly an engineer and manager, McBath left his career in 1990 to establish Calvary Revival Church with his wife and co-pastor Janeen. Staring out in a hotel conference room with some 21 congregants, almost immediately the ministry experienced unusual growth. To accommodate, McBath and his wife moved locations several times, finally ending up at the church’s current location which serves upwards of 6,000 weekly attendees. McBath’s television broadcast, The Voice of Revival, has aired on local and regional network stations for over 20 years.

In 1998 McBath founded Calvary Alliance of Churches and Ministries, an organization that serves Bishops and leaders in the U.S., Africa, India and the Caribbean. He is also the current President of the Hampton Roads Ecumenical Council of Bishops (HRECB), an organization established by the late Bishop Barnett K. Thoroughgood, to provide accountability and fellowship for members of the episcopacy and promote unity in the body of Christ.

McBath has dedicated his life to teaching the truth of God's Word so that all who hear can understand their significance in the Kingdom of God. His heart is to see people enjoy a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and walk in God's will for their lives.

He has been married to his wife Janeen for more than 31 years; has four sons, a daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren.
