Girls compete with each other. Women empower one another.-Unknown

How about this: girls and women need to learn to compete positively and how not to take competition so darn personally. So that they can empower themselves and one another.

40 Tips For A Happy Life by MABELLE SESE

It's so easy to get stressed out these days.  A long commute, a silly quarrel, those 5 last pounds that just won't go away can bring anyone down.  But how do we get rid of all the stress and negative feelings and actually start enjoying life again?  Well, seems like there's a few simple rules that can make our lives happier.  And here they are:
1. Take a 10-30 minutes walk every day. And while you walk, smile.
2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.
3. Sleep for 8 hours a day.
4. Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.
5. Play more games.
6. Read more books than you did last month.
7. Make time to practice meditation, yoga, and prayer.
8. Spend time with people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6.
9. Dream more while you are awake.
10. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.
11. Drink plenty of water.
12. Try to make at least three people smile each day.
13. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip.
14. Forget issues of the past. Don't remind your partner with his/her mistakes of the past.
15. Don't have negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
16. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
17. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar.
18. Smile and laugh more.
19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. So, get rid of those ill feelings.
20. Don't take yourself too seriously. No one else does.
21. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
22. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.
23. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about. Don't compare your partner with others.
24. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
25. Forgive everyone for everything.
26. What other people think of you is none of your business.
27. Time heals everything.
28. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
29. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.
30. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful
31. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need or definitely will get what you really, really want.
32. The best is yet to come.
33. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
34. Enjoy life each moment, try new things.
35. Call your family often.
36. Your Inner most is always happy. So, be happy.
37. Each day give something good to others.
38. Don't over do. Keep your limits.
39. When you awake alive in the morning, thank God for it.
40. Love yourself, because you are unique and wonderful in your own way.
These are the tips I've heard from wise people over the years and I think they work wonderfully.  But I am sure you too have some amazing tips on how to make one's life happier.  Please share them with me!

3 Types of People that Don't Respect Marriage by Troy Spry from website BlackandMarriedWithKids.com (reblog)

Respect!!!

It seems like cheating and affairs are at an all time high; Hollywood scandal is full of how unfaithful this or that person is and their saga plays out in the media for us all to see and judge. The philanderer is dragged through the mud; but I think it’s time we step back for a second and look at the entire picture. People aren’t having affairs by themselves and it usually comes down to the issue of respect! Let’s talk about a few scenarios…follow me.  People don’t cheat alone so here are a few kinds of folks they may end up “doing-the-do” with:

1) Mr. or Mrs. “they’re separated.”

Last I checked separated still meant married.  As a coach, so many times I see people get involved with someone who is married just because they wanted so badly to believe that being separated means it’s okay to get involved with that person. These are the same people who end up hurt because “separated” doesn’t turn into divorce and he or she ends up right back with their husband or wife. Suddenly the person you thought you had built something with turns into a lying cheater (ironic right?).
Moral: Don’t put yourself in a situation that has so little clarity. Separated is still married and only divorced means divorced!

2) Mr. or Mrs. “Their mate must not be doing something right at home.”

This is the person who believes the hype and justifies having the affair by thinking he or she are the savior. The truth is that there is always more to the story. You see, you don’t have to deal with the person’s flaws. You see the best of that person without ever experiencing the worst of them and you think that because you are “filling the void” then they are going to leave their spouse for you. Let’s just say “I wouldn’t hold my breath.” Instead of trying to fill voids, just respect the fact that they are married and that’s not your job.
Moral: Rarely will people leave their husband or wife for you.  But if they do, be prepared to see another side of them that you might not like as much.

3) Mr. or Mrs. “I didn’t know they were married.”

Okay, I understand that maybe the person may not have been truthful about his or her status, but let’s get real. We live in the information age where you can find out what you REALLY want to know. Between Google, Facebook, and girlfriends that can moonlight as private investigators there aren’t many secrets that can remain secrets for long: ESPECIALLY if the secret is “I’m married”. The truth is that you never did the research or noticed the red flags or asked the question because you didn’t want to; it’s easier for you (and your ego) to play victim in the end. Secondly, when many do find out their new mate is married, too many won’t and don’t stop the affair. Instead of cutting it off, you blame it on love or hope.
Moral: If you really wanted to know you could have found out.
Please don’t think that I’m taking it easier on the people who cheat on their mate by calling out the people they may cheat with….. because that isn’t my goal or my point.  I mentioned in the start of this article about respect, those 7 letters that Aretha sang about.  If we had more respect for relationships and marriages in general, even if they are not our own, it would be much harder for people to step out on those relationships because as I said earlier…people can’t cheat alone.   Affairs don’t “just happen:” they take a conscious decision of two willing participants to start and continue them.  The truth is that if we all placed more value on the institution of marriage then we would all be more accountable for what we do while in them, more relationships would be saved and fewer families would be broken.
BMWK Fam: Do you think we respect the institution of marriage as we should? Why or why not?

3 Types of People that Don't Respect Marriage | BlackandMarriedWithKids.com

These were the two scenarios I mentioned in my comments:Single people, mostly women, who are too bogged down with elder care, single parenting, going both to school and working full time,or launching  their businesses or careers to have time, energy or other resources for a real relationships often opt for affairs with married folk rather than being alone. However, they don't realize that they are squandering precious time, energy, emotion, and damaging important relationships with true friends and family on dropping everything and everybody when their married lover calls and wants to spend a few moments together More often than not,the married person they're seeing is absent for holidays, birthdays and other special times. So what is the single person involved in an affair but alone and lonely. They are risking losing the respect of important people in their lives when their lover's spouse find out and justifiably, dramatically expose them to everyone for the home wrecking ho-bags they are. Finally, they would be better off working on self improvement and working on enriching real, appropriate friendships and family relationships so that when they finally have time for a real relationship they will be bringing more to the table in every way,so they will attract a better partner and have a more successful union.
Sometimes young women perhaps in college who are adults and for whatever reason still live at home with very strict parents who insist that they come home every night  at a certain time rather than spending nights and weekends with their boyfriends often fall victim to the “I didn’t know he was married scam”. If you’re a lady who has to be home at a decent hour every night and have to sneak out and sneak in yourself, you don’t even think twice about the fact that your lover is sneaking around too and why he may have to be discreet. Some of these women’s parents still also restrict how late they receive phone calls, tell them that for whatever reason that it is inappropriate to date right now or ever, and feel that they have the right to decide for their adult children that they will remain virgins or at least celibate until marriage. There lies the respect problem again though.  Respect for parents and the rules of their house and respect for the way you were raised.
Let me know what you think about this?
